TNMS
Management System for Optical Transport Networks
The Telecommunication Network Management System, is the NGN management system for SURPASS Next Generation Optics. With TNMS an integrated service provisioning system controls the network from the elements to multiple domains. This easy-to-use system fully integrates PDH, SDH, DWDM (Core and Metro), Ethernet transport, Ethernet switching, RPR and MPLS technology and features full third party integration via TMF-based Open CORBA interfaces
For local management tasks or very small networks the TNMS CT (LCT or NCT Mode) is available. It covers all management functionality on Element-Layer.
The product family members are:
TNMS Core/CDM
TNMS CT
TNMS SX
NetViewer
TNMS Core
TNMS Core is the central component of the TNMS product family. It provides integrated and centralized management for optical multiservice networks on the Element Management, Network Management and Service Management Layer. Using the optional domain concept in TNMS Core a division of the network into distinct management areas is possible maintaining an overall view for special users. For integration into an umbrella management system TNMS Core provides the TMF standardised CORBA based NML-EML-interface.
RPR-Manager
The RPR-Manager supports the operator in configuring VLANs in RPRs (Resilient Packet Rings) built of Surpass hiT7070 or SMAs through calculation of available bandwidth for new VLANs under consideration of number of supported span failures. Additionally RPR-related alarms and Performance Data are correlated to those VLANs.
Open Interfaces
For integration into higher level management systems (umbrella systems) TNMS Core offers multiple solutions. With the open standardised interfaces (TMF Corba and SNMP) an online integration is possible. Via several scheduled ex — and import interfaces multiple information about network topology as well as log files is available.
TNMS CT
The craft terminal family is a scalable solution for the element and network management layer. Being configured as LCT it can be used by service staff locally to support fault-, traffic — and SW-management as well as card configuration. For small networks (up to 150 NE) it provides a network view for centralized management in the NCT-functionality.
