SIEMENS SIPLACE high-speed machines

SIEMENS is the leader in designing and production of equipment for components placement using the method of surface mounting, constantly introducing new design and technological solutions.

SIPLACE conception is based on modularity and includes the following components: stationary printed circuit board, stationary feeders, moving along the axes of reference heads, automatic replacement of vacuum nozzles, combinations of Collect&Place high speed revolver heads and Pick&Place high precision single heads.

All the main SIPLACE components and modules are fully compatible with each other. It allows considerable decrease in operating and production costs in case of equipment upgrade. SIPLACE systems are very convenient for maintenance and don’t require much time and funds for preventive maintenance.

One of the most important features of SIPLACE equipment is high accuracy of placing components. SIEMENS is the only company on the modern electronic market that offers this kind of placement with 6σ accuracy class which is classified as zero-defect production.

Siemens Siplace are machines for placing components with a combination of two 12-nozzle revolver heads that help to achieve the maximum output for your manufacturing process. The system is equipped with two gantries moving along X and Y axes.
While one head collects components needed for placement the other head at this moment places the collected components and that helps to achieve a high speed of placement. Overall dimensions range of placed components is from 0,6 x 0,3 mm (0201) to 18,7õ18,7 mm. Overall dimensions of printed circuit board are from 50 õ 50 mm2 to 508x460 mm2.

Collect&Place revolver placement heads are equipped with 12 vacuum nozzles and revolve around horizontal axis which helps to considerably economize working space. The maximum performance of a machine is 25000 comp./hour. The influence of centrifugal forces on components is minor because of head’s small diameter and that helps to achieve high speed of assembly. Components the types of which do not correspond to the programmed ones are acknowledged by the video system as defective and are not placed on a printed circuit board. Instead they are placed by the head in a special container.
The accuracy of placing components in case of 4 σ is 90 μm. The accuracy of placing components in case of 6 σ (zero-defect production) is 135 μm.

Up to 118 8-mm feeders can be installed in a machine. They have a short work cycle and high accuracy of positioning of component grasp point. Automatic setting of conveyor width, automatic replacement of nozzles and replaceable panel with feeders allows quick machine resetting in case the list of products is changed.
