For both wide — (WAN) and local-area networks (LAN) the ULAF+ offers a particularly innovative solution for symmetrical network access. ULAF+ connects the network users with the switching network or data network in the last mile. The system is built for high flexibility: ULAF+ makes equally efficient use of the existing copper cable infrastructure and fiber optic cables.

The combination of a voice (2 Mbit/s) and a data interface (nx64 kbit/s, 10baseT) in a single compact termination unit allows the subscriber to use available transmission capacity more efficiently. Two HDSL termination units are available, HTU (HDSL Termination Unit) and OTU (Optical Termination Unit). The STU (SDSL Termination Unit) will extend the platform with the benefits of the future ETSI-SDSL standard.
HTU — HDSL Termination Unit
