SRA-AS PLESIOCHRONOUS DIGITAL HIERARCHY (PDH) RADIO RELAY STATIONS

SRA-AS radio relay stations (AGAT-SIS radio access systems) AGAT-SIS plesiochronous digital hierarchy (PDH) SRA-AS are designed for use at local and intraareal communication networks for organization of line-of-sight radio relay links of 7, 8, 13, 15, 18, 23, 26, 28, 38 GHz frequency band.

SRA-AS radio relay stations can be used both for mobile communication networks (3G, 2G) as well as for fixed networks (ATM/IP network, LAN and WAN.)

• Flexibility and versatility of SRA-AS considerably simplifies upgrade and reconfiguration procedures.

Possible configuration variants:
 

1+1 hot-standby 1+0 configuration
1+1 with dimensional and spatial frequency separation
2x(1+0) configuration

Composition

SRA-AS radio relay station is composed of:

— indoor unit (IDU);
- outdoor unit (ODU);
- parabolic antenna.

IDU

The indoor unit is a modular construction. Basic IDU (1+0) configuration consists of access module, controller and baseband module. In other configurations one more baseband module is additionally mounted.
 


IDU bandwidth: 2x2 Mbit/s, 4x2 Mbit/s, 8x2 Mbit/s, 16x2 Mbit/s, 34 Mbit/s, 4xLAN+8xE1. LAN ports capacity in 4xLAN+8xE1 access module is defined under the following conditions:

ODU

The outdoor unit has two modifications with normal and high multiplexing which makes it possible to select between high spectral efficiency and high system amplification.
 
 
 
SRA-AS radio relay stations:

• contain 64 Kbit/s V.11 service communication channel.
• have occurred failure indication, IDU status and loop circuit activation indication.
• The software enables to:

— control SRA-AS DRRS modes;
- gather and process data on the current status of SRA-AS DRRS;
- provide voice communication with similar stations;
- log parameters and events;
- control external devices.

General data

— possibility to select transfer and interfaces rates;
- wide-range frequency coverage;
- frequency adjustment within the allocated frequency band;
- basic system parameters programming: configuration, bandwidth, channel frequency and transmitting power;
- simple procedure of interface parameters adjustment and the possibility of future bandwidth increase;
- increased available bandwidth (overall bandwidth exceeds basic network load);
- service channels availability;
- automatic and manual power adjustment;
- quality and characteristics control, far side measuring (RF, RX power) with the possibility to display information in the form of diagrams and Microsoft Excel tables;
- information gathering and displaying according to ITU-T G.821/G.826 Rec (UAS, SES, ES, BBE, OI);
- network topology: star, multipoint, ring;
- organization of remote and local loop;
- radio relay station management by means of local PC;
- several radio relay systems network management and full network control with automatic reports on malfunctions;
- trellis-coded modulation with Forward Error Correction (FEC) when using Reed-Solomon code;
- access isolation functions when configuring the system;
- cross-connect possibility at E1 level;
- dynamic IP-routing within the controller;
- VoIP concept for voice service channel;
- easy deployment and initialization owing to system’s modular structure;
- uniform construction of the units for all configurations;
- compact size of indoor unit (44 mm high) for installation in 19″ or 21″ rack;
- simple installation and mounting.

- outdoor unit size does not exceed 281 x 267 x 123 mm (weight — max. 4.3 kg);
- temperature range of the indoor unit: — 5 ÷ +55 °C;
- temperature range of the outdoor unit: — 50 ÷ +55 °C.
